Compression Strength AKA GCS

Green Compression Strength AKA GCS
After the wet sand is formed, it needs a certain wet compressive strength before casting to make it compact, demold, close the mold, transport, and even carry the molten iron in the early stage of casting.
-
Dry Compression Strength AKA DCS
After the wet sand mold is formed and cast, the high temperature molten iron makes the water vapor of the mold cavity wet sand migrate from the inside to the outside, so that the mold surface forms a dry sand layer, which must be able to withstand the static pressure of the molten iron on the sand mold, as well as the cooling shrinkage of the casting. Therefore, the dry compressive strength is also part of the production management.
