Silicon

Silicon is a semiconductor material that can be used to make semiconductor devices, solar panels, optical fibers, and integrated circuits. It can also be used in the form of alloys (such as ferrosilicon) for automotive and mechanical parts. Combined with iron, it can become silicon steel, which is abrasion resistant steel part commonly used on various tools. In addition, silicon is also one of the main components in stainless steel.
