Through the combustion (LOI) test of dry wet sand at 982°C and the volatilization (VCM) test at 649°C, the vaporization of organic matter and the amount of volatilization of volatile matter at high temperatures are different, and the loss content of the sand mold recycling material can be obtained. The value should fall within an appropriate range. Too low surface wet molding sand contains less components except silica sand, which is easy to produce rough surface castings, while too high surface will cause gas defects.
